Join a leading owner-operated firm in the exciting field of Building Automation! Island Temperature Controls is looking for a full-time DDC Service Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for servicing and troubleshooting a diverse portfolio of building control systems, presenting you with a unique opportunity to develop your electrical, mechanical and technical skills.

POSITION SUMMARY

The DDC Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing and resolving controls issues related to new and existing building automation systems. The DDC Service Technician may also be tasked with new component installations, developing and implementing custom control solutions, or responding to after-hours service requests. They regularly interact with HVAC Service Technicians and the Service Manager. Direct, effective and professional communication with coworkers, customers and management is critical to success.

REGULAR DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

· Maintain comprehensive understanding of DDC system product line.

· Respond to and resolve DDC system service tickets.

· Accurately document workorders and prepare reports.

· Meet with customers, building owners, facility managers to determine service needs.

· Communicate regularly with Dispatcher and Service Manager.

· Identify and resolve HVAC controls issues.

· Devise and implement practical control solutions.

· Apply skills and resources to ensure client comfort and efficient operation of mechanical systems.

· Review, create and/or modify system control programming in GCL+.

· Make basic changes to system graphical interfaces.

· Access and troubleshoot various building automation networks and protocols.

· Use field instrumentation to inspect, verify or diagnose systems.

· Continuous, expedient communication with customers.

· Adhere to company and site-specific safety protocols.

REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES

· Advanced and demonstrable organizational skills

· Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills

· Polite, dedicated, professional team player

· Self-starter who applies oneself with minimal supervision

· Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and workorders in a timely manner

· Consistently anticipate and meet or exceed customer needs

· Grade 12 education with a post-secondary degree or diploma in relevant field

· Competent with network fundamentals and IP infrastructure

· Programming experience (C/C++, Python) is an asset

· Prior experience in the HVAC industry or a relevant trade ticket is preferred

· Certification in HVAC Fundamentals, Open System protocol (BACnet/Lon), Experience/certification in Tridium AX/N4, Schneider, Distech, Alerton and/or licenses is an asset

· Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude is an asset

· Valid driver’s license required
